On-The-Run Program
Kids-on-the-Run
caters to our campers entering third through sixth grades
September 2008. This camp is a scaled-down version of
our Teens On-The-Run program which caters to our older campers
who can handle longer hours and more intense trips.
All trips and activities are age appropriate and staffed at
a 10:1 camper to staff ratio. This is a great stepping-stone
for our Teens On-The-Run Program. Transportation for
this camp is by air conditioned school buses.

Teens On-The-Run Program
Teens On-The-Run caters to our older campers, 6th grade and
up, who are able to enjoy more freedom and independence. Parents
have the option of choosing the level of supervision they
feel their child needs. We aim to create wonderful opportunities
for memorable and lasting friendships in a controlled, safe,
exciting, and adventurous environment. We hope to develop
bonds that stay with our campers and team members for years
to come.

Convenience
KidsCo
understands that our families have busy schedules. Convenience
and flexibility is extremely important. With that in mind,
we hope that by offering Six pick-up locations with extended
care hours (7am- 6:00pm), for our On-The-Run day trip camps,
we will relieve some of the chaos of your hectic schedule.
Each On-The-Run pickup site that offers extended care is based
at either one of our popular day camps or space specifically
for our On–The-Run program. These pick up locations offer
air-conditioned rooms, game room activities, bathroom facilities,
water fountains, and field use. These pickup locations becomes
more than just a bus stop, they are a controlled safe haven
to relax prior to or after a fun filled day of excursions.
Continuing with the convenience theme, we are also enabling
parents the ease of dropping off all their children at one
location while allowing families to choose which camp best
suits their child's interest or age group. All pick up locations
with extended care offer KidsCo Day Camp, Teens On-The-Run,
and Kids On-The Run. (Note Lakeland 's pickup site only offers
Kids and Teens On-The-Run Day Trip.)
Our Incredible Staff
Our travel camp staff is comprised of our year round employees
and college aged students. Our directors for the travel camps
are also directors for our KidsCo before and after school care
programs. Their experience with children, scheduling, traveling
and staff motivation is impeccable. We also require our staff
to participate in incontinuing education and grow in knowledge.
Every year all of our camp directors attend the American Camping
Association conference for training purposes in addition to
local childcare workshops throughout the year. Please feel free
to contact us with any questions concerning the background of
any of our kidsCo staff.
Preparation and Safety
KidsCo's
planning season begins way before the start of summer camp.
September marks the begining for the new camp season for us.This
ensures that we have ample time to prepare and plan for another
amazing summer.
Each
year our camps are licensed by the State of Maryland. We are
always developing and updating our safety procedures to make
sure that we meet and exceed state requirements. Safety is
always our number one concern. Here are a few of the safety
procedures we implement over the summer:
A digital picture of your child is taken
on the first morning of your child's camp week. This picture
is taken with us on all trips in the event that an emergency
arises.
Each bus has a bus captain who oversees
attendance and accountability along with the director.
Directly upon getting off the bus, all
campers are shown where the “main base” is located. All campers
meet at the “main base” a minimum of two times during their
trip.
Each staff member is equipped with a two
way radio to allow them contact with each other at all times.
The children's emergency information is
kept with the director at all times. If your child is sent
to camp with a cell phone, that number is noted by the director.
The director's mobile number is always accessible to your
child via their KidsCo wristband.
While attending large theme parks, the
children are required to wear their hip trip shirt for easy
visibility.
On all trips, children wear a wristband
which indicates our camp name and the director's mobile phone
number.
These
are just a few of our everyday precautions. Please feel free
to contact us for more information about safety and accountability!
Transportation
A
daily part of our travel camp is bus time. Keeping in mind
that your children spend every day on a bus, we feel that
working with the same bus company and drivers all summer is
extremely important. This will be our fourth summer partnering
with the same bus company and we enjoy having extremely open
communication with them.
Bus
rides with our travel camp are NOT what you would call a usual
commute. Each day the bus ride becomes an adventure in and
of itself. Your children can look forward to Game Day Wednesday,
Dress up Tuesday, Free style Friday and much more aboard the
KidsCo travel busses.
