KidsCo Middle School Clubs

One core strategy that incorporates the visions and passions of the KidsCo teens is our clubs. The kids, as well as the staff, are encouraged to bring their hobies, pastimes, and expertise to the table by offering club ideas for which smaller groups can participate. new extracurricular interests are fostered in a familiar, comfortable, friendly environment. Clubs bring a wide variety of experiences to our families, elimate pressure for children who may feel apprehensive in trying new things, and simplify scheduling for parents who would otherise be traveling to outside activities.

Kids will sign up to participate in the clubs that are most intriguing to them. Each club will run on a set, weekly schedule for a two-month duration. Every club period will be comprised of two ro more different club options.

Some choices will always meet onsite such as the Yearbook or Scrapbooking Club in which cameras are distributed and a memory book is created or the Karaoke or Dance Club where a routine/show is performed. Others may include Computer Club, or even Custom Gear Club. Travel clubs are popular! Our KidsCo teens may have the option to travel once a week and participate on a bowling or Billiards League, Softball or Soccer Teams, Paintball or Indoor Rock Climbing Series, or even travel to a different resaurant each week for a Taste of MD Club. Combinations are also popular! The movie Critic Club, for example, would both travel to see New Releases and stay onsite some weeks to critique favorites. In warm months, a Wet & Wild Club could travel to local pools some weeks and stay at the center for mega water battles on others.

Not only do we experience the community though our clubs, we also contribute. Key Club would creatively assist around the school grounds and also look into local volunteer activities in the surrounding neighborhoods. Opportunities to mentor younger elementary ages will be provided in conjunction with our local school-age programs. The teens will be invited to don a special Coach Jersey and participate in leading Soccer Teams, Cheerleading Squads, Dance Troupes, Drama Clubs, Football Stars, Basketball Teams, even Kickball Games
