Most Frequently Asked Questions

How do KidsCo staff members know if my child has a medical condition that will need to be monitored at camp?

Our application includes a Camper Health History form that includes a section where you may indicate any special needs and/or medical conditions your child has. We have a “red flag” system that is used to notify our camp Directors and your child's counselors of this need and/or condition. This information is given on a need to know basis, with steps taken to respect your child's privacy. If you have any concerns about your child while they are attending camp, please do not hesitate to talk your child's camp Director .

What safety precautions do you take at the water parks?

Our staff members are on the pool deck as well as in the pool with your children. Each child wears a waterproof KidsCo wristband to identify them as being with KidsCo Summer Camp. Directors are certified in CPR and First Aid. We do not depend solely on lifeguards to watch the children while they are at the pool, but instead work with them, ultimately relying on our staff members to be accountable for your child's safety. Roll call is taken before the children leave the bus, once they are in the park, again at adult swims, before leaving the park, and again on the bus. The safety of your child is our number one concern.

How do you keep track of the children on field trips?

On scheduled field trip days, campers wear their current KidsCo trip shirt. This is the shirt that you pay for at the time of application. We have your children wear these shirts every Wednesday to help ensure the safety by instant visual identification. In addition, all campers are required to wear a wristband, color coded by camp location and marked with the main office number, to ensure quick identification if needed. Your children are overseen throughout the day by their counselors. Our counselors do scheduled roll calls throughout the day and are equipped with cell phones and walkie talkies to keep in contact with each other and their camp Director. The kindergarten and first grade groups are kept together with their counselors at all times.

Can I send my child for just a few days of the week instead of the whole week?

We do not prorate camp weeks. If your child can not attend all of the days in any given week, you will still be charged the full tuition. This policy is for both the Day Camp and the Teens On-The-Run day trip camp.

What do I send with my child to camp?

Send your child with a backpack or bag for his/her belongings. Your child's belongings should be labeled. In their backpacks, please send a bathing suit, towel, extra sunscreen, and a lunch and drink. (We do have coolers for lunches). On Wednesday trip days, children should come with a non-perishable bag lunch. Children are not encouraged to bring valuables to camp. (i.e. jewelry, hand held games, collector cards, etc.)

What do the kids do at KidsCo if it rains?

KidsCo has an awesome rain day schedule. Rainy days often times offer a nice change in the regular routine for the campers and staff members. Check with your camp Director for that day's planned activities.
