How does your staff know if my
child has a medical condition that will need to be monitored
at camp?
Our application includes a camper medical form that includes
a section for you to indicate any medical conditions your
child has. (i.e. asthma, etc.) We have a “red flag”
system that is used to notify our camp directors and your
child’s direct counselors of this condition. This information
is given on a need to know basis with every step being taken
to respect your child’s privacy. If you have concerns
about your child, please do not hesitate to talk your child’s
camp director.
What safety precautions do you take at the water
parks?
Our staff is on the pool deck as well as in the pool with
your children. Each child wears a waterproof KidsCo wrist
band to identify them as being with KidsCo camp. Directors
are certified in CPR and 1st Aid. We do not depend solely
on lifeguards to watch the children but, work with them, ultimately
relying on our staff to be accountable for your child’s
safety.
Roll calls are taken before the children leave the bus, once
they are in the park, again at adult swims, before leaving
the park, and again on the bus. The safety of your children
is our number one concern.
How do you keep track of the children on day trips?
On scheduled field trip days, campers wear their current
KidsCo trip shirt. This is the shirt that you pay for at the
time of application. We have your children wear these shirts
to help ensure the safety and instant visual identification
of all our campers. Your children are accompanied throughout
the day by their Counselors. Our counselors do scheduled roll
calls throughout the day and are equipped with cell phones
and walkie talkies to keep in contact with each other and
their camp director.
Can I split a camp session?
Parents are encouraged to have their children attend a full
session; however we understand that that is not always possible,
so we do allow you to split a session.
Can I send my child for just a few days of the week
instead of the whole week?
We do not discount weeks. If your child can not attend all
of the days, you will still be charged the full tuition. This
policy is for both the Day Camp and the Teens On-The-Run day
trip camp.
What do I send with my child to camp?
Send your child with a backpack or bag for belongings. Your
child’s belongings should be labeled. In their backpacks,
please send a bathing suit, towel, extra sunscreen, and a
lunch & drink. (We do have coolers for lunches) On trip
days, children need to pack non-perishables.
Children are not encouraged to bring valuables to camp. (i.e.
jewelry, Game Boys, collector cards, etc.)
What do the kids do if it rains?
KidsCo has an awesome rain day schedule. Sometimes it’s
a nice change in the routine for the campers. Check with the
director
